A Rare 19th Century Country House Reclining Chaise Longue to a design by Howard & Sons
This outstanding, heirloom piece has been traditionally restored, from the base up, by our master craftspeople.
The Chaise is to a design by Howard & Sons but un-stamped. Identical in dimensions and design to a known Howard & Sons chaise longue but with an additional reclining mechanism.
A solid wood frame with new webbing, lashed springs, fresh hessian with bridle ties to secure the horsehair. A soft layer of cotton felt below crisp cotton (FR) calico.
The reclining mechanism has been restored and is fully functional.
It would make an exquisite feature piece in any setting; either contemporary or traditional.
The chaise has been upholstered to calico to allow a client to select a fabric of their choosing, making the finished piece a truly unique and bespoke piece.
