Description
Marcello Cuneo designed the ‘Luisa’ folding chair in the 1970s for Mobel Italia. Sleek and elegant, the chair is chrome-plated to a mirror finish.
Hours of work were spent in its restoration. It has a new regulation-compliant foam seat, fixed on wood, covered with FR cotton calico and final fabric.
An architect and designer, Marcello Cuneo worked alongside the celebrated architects Lino Saltini and Gio Ponti. With the latter, Cuneo designed some of his most internationally acclaimed works and many of his highly prized furniture pieces have been exhibited in museums from New York to Italy.
In the spirit of Haute Couture, the chair is upholstered in a Chanel inspired, bouclé fabric by Nobilis, Paris. “The colourful and textured yarns blend harmoniously to create a unique, irresistibly chic and luxurious fabric.”
The French fabric house of Nobilis has utilised its vast experience to produce a diverse range of designs since its incorporation in 1928. From the traditional to the modern, French elegance emanates effortlessly from their collections of fabric, rugs, furniture and wallpaper.
