A Highly-Collectible Mid-century Toothill ‘Wingate’ Armchair
A Sophisticated Mid-century, Toothill, ‘Wingate’ Armchair. It has been fully restored by our master craftspeople and skilfully upholstered in a luxe cotton/wool/alpaca bouclé from Nobilis, Paris.
Toothill produced some of Britain’s most memorable furniture of the mid 20th century. The company was founded by Reg Toothill and originally focused on making covers for existing sofas but by the 1960s they concentrated on furniture.
Toothill was a small company and their production limited, compared to other manufacturers of the time, thus making their furniture rare and highly collectible.
In the spirit of Haute Couture, the chair is upholstered in a Chanel inspired, boucle fabric by Nobilis, Paris. “The colourful and textured yarns blend harmoniously to create a unique, irresistibly chic and luxurious fabric.”
