The wood’s sinuous flowing grain and rich colour is abundant.The table has beautifully detailed edges to the top and concave ends. Raised on tapering supports with a central removable leaf.

A large mid-20th century extending dining table designed by Richard Hornby for Fyne Ladye – circa 1960s made from Afromosia wood. The table has beautifully detailed edges to the top and concave ends. Raised on tapering supports with a central removable leaf.

It is an elegant design with refined lines but it has a substantial feel.

In the 1960s, Richard Hornby’s exquisitely crafted furniture was manufactured by Fyne Ladye Furniture of Bath. Many pieces were retailed through Heals and also Harrods.

Hornby’s introductory range of fine dining furniture from 1961, is generally what is most desired today.
