Description
The ultimate in luxury travel. This ingenious, folding, reclining, teak Campaign chair designed by J Herbert McNair. It features a removable leather cushion pad and decorative brass details on the legs.
Two chairs available. One requires more restoration than the other. Both to have new leather seat made with horse hair stuffing.
McNair trained as an architect with the Glasgow firm of Honeyman and Keppie. It was there that he met Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The pair attended evening classes at Glasgow School of Art, as part of their training, where they met sisters Frances and Margaret Macdonald. Later, Mackintosh would marry Margaret and McNair would marry Frances.
Part of the Glasgow School, the ‘quartet’ would become known as ‘The Four’.
