Cornelius V. Smith was a successful wholesale cabinet maker, upholsterer, and frame maker in London during the late 19th century, operating from 1885 to 1891 and employing over 150 people by 1891.

Born in 1847, Smith established his business at Marshall’s Yard, Hampstead Road, and later moved to larger premises at 64 Osnaburgh Street in 1886. His company was known for high-quality items like upholstered chairs and innovative designs such as patent ottoman box couches.
Due to their quality and craftsmanship, Smith’s furniture pieces are still sought after today and can be valuable, especially when well-restored.
