Description
A bold, 1930s/40s, armchair featuring an applied, carved, back splat secured with individual studs by Houlès, Paris. It has been fully restored and reupholstered in Zoffany’s dramatic Deco Deer velvet.
Zoffany’s Deco Deer design is from an original French print and represents an iconic period of design. Silhouetted shapes create a whimsical look, contrasting against a richly coloured plain ground.
Houlès designs and creates the finest of studs, passementerie and fabrics. Still family-owned, it was founded in Paris by father and son Félix and André Houlès in 1928. The company, which began with one store at 18 rue Saint-Nicolas, is now established in over 160 countries.
Presidential residences and castles, such as le Château de Versailles, often select Houlès’ passements and studs for their restoration projects.
The price is for one chair but two are available.
