An elegant and expansive sofa, fully-restored by our master craftspeople. The sofa has been reupholstered in a refined Robert Kime striped fabric. Featuring original Cope & Collinson Castors.
We use traditional, time-honoured techniques in our restoration process. Pure cotton calico, cotton-felt and hessian, fixed with bridle ties, lashings and classic upholstery tacks.
A piece that is over 100 years old, restored to last another 100 years. It is the definition of an heirloom piece and one that would fit perfectly into any home, be it traditional or contemporary.
A lifelong interest in rugs and textiles, frequently admired or collected for the story they may tell, make robust appearances in Robert KIme’s homes and projects. Having decorated some of England’s foremost houses, with an air of natural permanence, his large stock of antique textiles started to dwindle. This led Robert to begin designing his own fabrics in 1983, a practice that has carried on since, based on his extensive collection and sourcing of document pieces.
